What You Learn

The complete Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

• Knowledge Development (online or in a classroom ) to understand basic principles of scuba diving,
• Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills,
• Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore! 

If you've participated in a Discover Scuba Diving experience or resort course, the skills you learned may be credited towards a portion of the full Open Water Diver course certification.

Blue Octopus Scuba offers three choices for completing the Open Water course

• Complete Confined Water Dives with us first weekend and complete Open Water Dives a second weekend
• Referral course.  Don't spend your vacation time or dollars sitting in a classroom or at the bottom of a pool!  Complete Confined Water Dives with us and ask for referral to any resort or retailer worldwide.  There is no additional charge for this referral
• 3-day Combined course.  Save time and combine Confined Water and Open Water in a 3-day weekend at the lake.

Requirements:

To enroll in a Basic Open Water Diver course (or Junior Open Water Diver course), you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required. 

What's included:

• Academics (book only-please contact the store for more information about eLearning)
• Confined Water Dives
• Rental Dive Gear (BCD, Regulator(s), Weights, etc...)

What's not included:

• Personal Dive Gear (Mask, Snorkel, Fins & Boots)

Educational courses can be refunded with a doctor's letter or rescheduled within one year. A fee of $75 applies for rescheduling within 7 days of the course date, and a $25 fee for rescheduling within 14 days. Course materials cannot be refunded. 

Students must physically come in and be fitted no later than the Friday prior to their course.
